Barclay Downs is an English-named grid laid over a former dairy farm. The street names — Runnymede, Nottingham, Wickersham, Roxborough — were chosen in the late 1950s to give a brand new suburb a sense of age. Sixty years of willow oaks later, the conceit has become true.
