Inside the mile
Symphony Park concerts, a film at Phillips Place, dinner along Sharon Road or Carnegie Boulevard, a Saturday morning loop of the neighborhood, and the mall on a hot afternoon.
Ten to twenty minutes away
Freedom Park and the greenway. The Mint Museum Randolph. Myers Park's Queens Road West canopy. Dilworth and South End restaurants. Charlotte's uptown museums and arenas.
Sport
Panthers and Charlotte FC at Bank of America Stadium, Hornets at Spectrum Center, Knights baseball uptown, and the PGA Tour's annual visit to Quail Hollow Club — about ten minutes south-west of the neighborhood.
Day trips
The North Carolina mountains are roughly two hours west; the coast four to five hours east. Wine country in the Yadkin Valley and the Uwharrie forest are each under two hours.
