How this guide is made.
Sources, verification, update cadence, and what we will not publish.
Sources
Road geometry and nearby-place coordinates are derived from OpenStreetMap. These are orientation data, not a parcel survey. Consult county GIS and recorded plats for property research, and CMS for enrollment-year school assignments. Historical claims carry specific sources where verified; a general source list is not proof of each claim. Dining records may become outdated and require operator confirmation.
- Mecklenburg County GIS — parcels, addresses and jurisdictional geography.
- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools boundary tools — current school assignments by address.
- City of Charlotte Open Data — streets, planning and public infrastructure.
- OpenStreetMap contributors — road geometry and nearby place coordinates.
- North Carolina Real Estate Commission — due-diligence guidance for buyers.
Distances on street and dining pages are calculated from mapped coordinates and are estimates, not routing instructions. Restaurant status, hours and school assignments should be checked with the operator or responsible authority before a decision.
What we do not publish
We do not publish individual property listings, individual sale prices tied to identifiable addresses, valuations of specific homes, or testimonials and statistics we cannot substantiate. We do not present school assignments as guarantees.
Corrections
Businesses close, boundaries move, and assignments change. Where a page states something time-sensitive, it says so. Corrections are welcome and are applied to the live page rather than annotated at the bottom of it.
Independence
This guide is not affiliated with any homeowners association, mall, brokerage of record, school district or governmental body. It is published within Nicholas and Miriam Peters’ portfolio of real estate, homebuilding, design and related websites; those relationships are set out on the Peters Portfolio page and in the site-wide advertising disclosure.
